Joint videoconference between business circles of Belarus and Korea

Оn March 24, 2021 the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea together with the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study and the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) held a videoconference for Belarusian exporters and Korean importers of food products and textile.

In his speech the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Andrei Popkov stated that there are a lot of new business opportunities and an untapped potential for enhancing interaction between Belarus and Korea in a variety of spheres, including light and food industries, as well as mechanical engineering, electronics and microelectronics, modern household appliances and medical equipment, composite and other constructive materials, ICT solutions, pharmacy, chemistry and petro-chemistry.

Prospects of bilateral cooperation in these sectors were also highlighted in the welcoming remarks by Mr. Valery Sadokho, Director of the National Centre for Marketing, Mr. Hong Kwang-hee, Chairman of KOIMA, Mr. Park Yunsoo, Vice-Chairman of KOIMA, and Mr. Vadim Lamkov, Deputy Chairman of the Concern «Bellegprom».

More than 40 companies from Belarus and Korea took part in the videoconference. The Belarusian side was represented by food and textile producers, such as Minsk Sparkling Wines Factory, Kommunarka, Krasny pischevik, Kamvol, Molochny Mir, Santa Bremor, Komako, Lidaklebproduct and Orsha Linen Mill, which presented the full range of manufactured products. The Korean side was represented by KIOMA and its members, including major importers of food and textile goods.

The Embassy informed Belarusian participants about certification procedures for the supply of meat, dairy and other food and textile products to South Korea, as well as terms of conducting foreign trade with the Korean partners.
