Ambassador of Belarus Andrei Popkov held meetings in the Republic of Korea to discuss prospects of cooperation in the sphere of bio-technology
31.03.2019 г.Оn March 28 – 29, 2019 H.E. Mr. Andrei Popkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea visited the National Institute of Animal Science of the Rural Development Administration and Sooam Biotech Research Foundation.
Mr. Alexander Budevich, Deputy Director General of the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Animal Breeding, participated in the meetings.
With Mr. Yang Chang Bum, Director General of the National Institute of Animal Science the sides exchanged the information about the recent and ongoing biotechnological research projects in both countries, including the production of transgenic animals, and discussed the prospects of cooperation in the sphere of livestock industry and technologies.
The Belarusian delegation visited the facilities of Sooam Biotech Research Foundation and studied the main directions of Dr. Hwang Woo Suk’s research activities in advanced biotechnology as well as explored different stages of animal cloning.
