Reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus held in Seoul

On June 28, 2018 a reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The reception was attended by the representatives of Korean state bodies, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of diplomatic corps, public organizations and Korean media. Among the guests there were representatives of the leadership of the Korean Association of Importers, Korea Trade Network KTNET and several other major companies and business associations.
In his congratulatory speech H.E. Mr. A.Popkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea, highlighted the successes and prospects for the development of Belarus – Korea relations, noted the successful holding of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang in February-March, 2018 and other significant events. Ambassador A.Popkov gave a positive assessment to the initiatives of developing cooperation with the Eurasian states in the context of the Northern Economic Cooperation policy implemented by the South Korean administration, and also welcomed the active development of the inter-Korean dialogue.
H.E. Mr. Kwon Yong Bok, Deputy Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, delivered congratulatory remarks on the occasion of the Independence Day of Belarus on behalf of the Korean government. In his speech Deputy Minister Kwon positively assessed the results of bilateral cooperation and expressed the readiness of the Korean side to further develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields and enhance cooperation in the Eurasian space, in particular, in implementing significant infrastructure projects.
In the course of the reception, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Korea Mr. Yoon Kyung-Duk was awarded with the Honorary Diploma of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for his significant personal contribution to the development of Belarus – Korea relations and bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The reception was accompanied by a presentation of promo videos about Belarus, a photo exhibition and a concert.
