Spouse of the Ambassador takes part in the event on the matters of gender equality

On 19 June 2018 the Spouse of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea Mrs. Olga Popkova took part together with women-ambassadors and spouses of ambassadors of a number of states in the discussion of current issues of ensuring gender equality and empowering women in contemporary society that was held with the support of Korean women organizations.
The event was attended by Minister of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea Chung Hyun-back, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Gender Equality and Family Nam Insoon, President of the Korean National Council of Women Choe Keumsook and other representatives of Korean parliamentary, public and scientific circles.
The participants exchanged views on the most effective ways of the empowerment of women, gender equality and prevention of domestic violence as well as elimination of modern forms of trafficking in women and girls, in particular, with the use of digital technologies. The Belarusian experience in ensuring gender equality and addressing women matters has been introduced during the meeting.
