Embassy of Belarus and Korea International Trade Association organized a business event in COEX, Seoul

Embassy of Belarus and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) organized a round table in COEX (Seoul) on June 30, 2020 with the participation of major Korean companies doing business or discussing trade and investment projects with Belarus.

Mr. Han Jin Hyun, Executive Vice-Chairman of KITA in his introductory remarks stressed an important role of Belarus for Korean businesses approaching Eurasian Economic Union and highlighted the main prospective areas for bilateral cooperation.

H.E. Mr. Andrei Popkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea in his welcoming remarks briefed about current economic interaction between the companies of the two countries focusing on the future plans for strengthening business activities and development of bilateral business bonds with the support of Belarusian and Korean economic associations.

Mr. Jeon Eunkil, Director of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea noted the importance of Belarus within New Northern Policy.

Embassy of Belarus presented economic situation and business climate in the Republic of Belarus, priorities for Belarus – Korea cooperation and video about Great Stone Industrial Park.

All participants representing SK hynix, Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung Electronics, IK Semicon, Young-Ihn Corporation, KT, KTNET, Daelim, Dowha Engineering, Mecen IPC and other well-known Korean companies shared their experiences of cooperation with the Belarusian Side.

Belarus Ambassador made comments and answered several questions regarding business environment and uncertainties Korean businesses may have faced on the Belarusian market.
